Chapter Name Indenture 1987:

This Indenture made the 17th July, 1987 between the Minister forEnergy of Government Buildings in the City of Dublin (hereinafter called the Vendor) of the one part AND Joseph C. Canning of Irishtown,
Mountmellick, County Laois, Medical Practitioner, Edward A.Parkinson of Tog her House, Monasterevin, County Kildare, Businessman and George O'Sullivan, Killenard, Port arlington, County Laois, Solicitor
and Robert H. H. Russell of Station Road, Portarlington, County Laois, Company Director (hereinafter called the Purchasers) of the other part.
Whereas:
1. By an Indenture of Conveyance dated the 1st day of October, 1935 andmade between McAinsh and Company Limited of the One Part and 'the Minister for Lands of the Other Part (registered in the Registry of Deeds, Dublin at 55 minutes after 12 o'clock on the 4th day of December, 1935 -Book 42 No. 31) the property hereinafter described was inter alia conveyed to the Minister for Lands for an Estate in fee
simple in possession free from incumbrances.
2. By Lands (alteration of name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1977 the title of the Minister for Lands was altered to that of the Minister for Fisheries.
3. By Fisheries (alteration of name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1978 the title of The Minister for Fisheries was altered to that of the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry.
4. By Fisheries and Forestry (alteration of name of Department andTi tIe of Minister) Order 1986 the ti tIe of the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry was altered to that of the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and
Forestry.
5. By Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry (alteration of name of Departmentand title of Minister) Order 1987 the title of the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry was altered to that of the Minister for the
Marine.
6. By Forestry and Wildlife (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 1987 the functions vested in theMinister for the Marine by or under (inter alia) the Forestry Act 1946
(as amended by the Forestry Act, 1956) were transferred to the Vendor.
7. The Purchasers are trustees of Portarlington Golf Club situate at Garryhinch, Portarlington in the County of Offaly.
8. The Vendor has agreed with the Purchasers for the sale of the property described in the Schedule hereto for the price or sum of £38,000 free from incumbrances.Now this Inden ture witnesseth that in pursuance of the said Agreement and in consideration of the said sum of £38,000 (receipt of which the
Vendor doth hereby acknowledge) the Vendor as beneficial Owner with the consent of the Minister for Finance HEREBY CONVEYS unto the Purchasers ALL THAT AND THOSE the lands described in the Schedule hereto TO HOLD the same unto and to the use of the Purchasers in Fee Simple and to the intent that the same shall vest and is hereby vested in the Purchasers as trustees for and on behalf of the Portarlington Golf
Club.
It is hereby certified that the transaction hereby effected does not form part of a larger transaction or of a series of transactions in respect of which the amount or value or the aggregate amount or value of the consideration exceeds £50,000.00.
And it is hereby further certified by the Purchasers as the persons becoming entitled to the entire legal interest in the property hereby conveyed that the Purchasers are Irish Citizens and as such are Qualified Persons within the meaning of Sec,tion 45 of the Land Act, 1965.
SCHEDULE
ALL THAT part of the lands of Garryhinch, comprising an area of8.903 hectares (22 acres or thereabouts statute measure) situate in the Barony of Phillipstown Upper and County of Offaly being that part of the lands conveyed in the hereinbefore recited Indenture of Conveyance dated the 1st day of October, 1935, as outlined in red and marked with the letter "B"on the sub-division map annexed hereto and referred to in the Land Commission Letter of Consent to sub-division dated the 10th day of July, 1985.
In Witness Whereof the Vendor has caused his Official Seal to be affixed hereto and the Purchasers have signed their names and affixed their seals the day and year first herein written.
Present when the Official Seal of the Minister for Energy was affixed hereto and was authenticated by the signature of Enda O'Connor. A person authorised to authenticate the Seal of the Minister for Energy. A person authorised in that behalf: Anne Hegarty, Patrick J. Kenny, both of Department of Energy, Leeson Lane, Dublin 2. Civil Servants.

Forest and Wildlife Service has agreed to sell the area lettered B on attached Map to Portarlington Golf Club.
Area which is unregistered is portion of an area of 523 acres which was conveyed to the Minister by Deed of Conveyance dated 1/10/1935 area of Plot B is 22 acres approx.
Hereby apply for the consent of the Land Commission to sub-division of the latter's holding by the sale of Plot B to Portarlington Golf Club's copy of this application is attached for your records).
