South Leinster Trophy Victory

SOUTH LEINSTER TROPHY VICTORY
Well done to our South Leinster team of Ger O’Flaherty, Paddy Clarke and Dom Doody (home) ,Jack Byrne, Brian Keogh, Pauric O’Dea and Eugene Dunne (away) and team managers Paddy Dempsey and Seamus Brereton.on a great win against local rivals Tullamore 5-2
Next up is a home quarter final fixture against Castlecomer on Saturday 22nd July at 3pm. when we look foward to having a big home support to see us through to the semi-final.

MINOR CUP & CHALLENGE CUP

Both ladies teams lost in the quarter finals of the Minor Cup and Challenge Cup this week. The ladies have played tremendous golf during the various rounds but came up against better teams on Sunday/Monday. Well done ladies for progressing so far in the competition. Better luck next time.

“There are no changes in elevation here at Portarlington. This is as idyllic as it gets in terms of exertion. Yes, you might be vexed by the trees and the variety of doglegs, but that’s the only exertion required! Mature trees proliferate, especially where the course brushes up against the River Barrow. This is where you’ll find many of the strongest holes (14-17), although the best is the 7th — a par four stretching over 400 metres through a tall, tight avenue of trees. Red squirrels abound. They — the club, not the squirrels — won’t charge you more that €25 for the privilege of playing here”.

BOYNE TROPHY 3rd ROUND

Congratulations to the Ladies team which has reached the 3rd round of the Boyne Trophy. Well done.

It is not known yet who they will be playing in the round.  The 3rd round is scheduled to be completed before 13th July 2017.
