Magic Ball-Hopping drive on 4th

This ridiculous early weekend rising has got to end.  I mean really, there we were, The Buddy and I, teeing off at 7.45a.m. on a Saturday morning.  Pro-shop and clubhouse snug and cosy closed and we’re heading out to play golf.  AND, we were not even close to first off either.  But the weather was so nice I even opened my eyes to look around.

And on the 4th tee box – alone Thank God – I performed magic.  I placed the freak ball upon the tee.  I lined up the shot, got my grip, swung my swing.  When it was all over the ball was sitting serenely on the little hole left by my tee.  The same tee was 20 feet away up the fairway suffering from G-shock and jet-lag.  I made the ball jump and the tee fly and not a witness there to see it.  Typical.

There we were, as if by magic, at the 8th tee boxes.  As The Buddy was organising himself for his drive, the squirrel fiesta began.  Not one, nor two but three squirrels were dancing, chasing, cavorting in a carefree manner through the woods.  Or indulging in some macho courting behaviour – my squirreleze is still in its infancy so understanding can therefore be compromised.

On the 11th, my drive meandered its way along the pre-fairway rough until it found a comfy spot to settle down.  The Buddy hit a tremendous beauty of a shot that landed not a micron away from the hole.  Sadly, not even forceful marching towards the green could entice the ball into the hole.  An almost hole-in-one.  Next time for sure.

My excessive and nauseating banana-drive behaviour carried on until the 16th.  For on the 16th, as I drove, I managed to get my hips outta the way so the club could come straight through.  And believe me, I am sooooo hip that was achievement maximus in itself.

And, more turning atrocious into reasonable, I managed to scrape a 1-pointer 6 on the 17th AFTER driving my first ball into the Evil Barrow.  Victory from potential defeat, hurrah!!
